Designers: Achille and Pier Castigliani
Born in 1913 and 1918 respectively, Pier and Achille Castiglioni were Italian-born Industrial Designers who worked on a range of projects from architecture, to lighting design, furniture, hi-fi consoles, and many other objects. Their works helped to establish Italy as a leader in sophisticated modern design after the second World War.
The Radiofonografo's shells of the main body are manufactured using numerically-controlled milling machines. The sanding of the wooden panels, assembly of the different components, and finishing details are done entirely by hand.
Each step of the manufacturing process of the Radiofonografo is done to exacting standards, by hand, with constant refinements made to the techniques used to achieve a world-class hi-fi console.
Radiofonografo's pedestal is produced by carefully pouring molten alumium into a sand mold cavity to achieve the basic form, which is then refinded and finished by hand.
